Today is the day!
A brand-new rider experience has officially launched across the Citilink system, bringing faster boarding, easier payments, smarter trip planning, and major service improvements to you.
These upgrades are some of the biggest customer experience improvements Citilink has launched in years, all designed to make riding easier, more flexible, and more connected.
And starting today, you can begin using them!
Tap to Pay Has Arrived
No cash? No problem.
You can now tap your debit card, credit card, phone, or mobile wallet directly on the bus to pay your fare for a regular priced Ticket to Ride ($1.50).
Powered through our partnership with Token Transit, Tap to Pay makes boarding quicker, easier, and more convenient than ever before.
Just tap and ride.
Fare Capping Is Officially Live
Ride more without worrying about paying more.
With fare capping, you can use Tap to Pay, smartcards, or mobile tickets and you will never pay more than the cost of a day pass in a single day.
Once you hit the daily limit, the rest of your rides are covered automatically.
No math. No guessing. No overpaying.
All-Day Passes Are Now Available On Board
Need to ride all day? You can now purchase an all-day pass for use that day directly from the driver while boarding the bus.
It’s one more way Citilink is making transit easier and more accessible for riders across Greater Fort Wayne.
(If you’d like to purchase passes for future dates, those can still be purchased at Central Station or the St. Francis Drive office.)
Royale Launches Today
Citilink riders now have access to upgraded features through the Transit app and the Royale paywall is officially gone starting today!
That means you can now:

New Routes & Service Updates Are Rolling Out
Today also marks the launch of several summer service improvements across the system.
The biggest change is the launch of our updated #21 Medlink route, designed to improve access to medical destinations and strengthen connections for riders who rely on transit to reach healthcare and essential services.
Additional route and schedule updates are also launching across the system, including:
- Half-hour route #8 updates
- #1 Waynedale/#1A Social Security service adjustments tied to the Bluffton Road bridge reopening
- Schedule improvements focused on reliability and rider connections
Updated schedules and rider information are available now.
This Is Just the Beginning
These upgrades are about more than technology or new features, they’re about creating a better experience for every person who rides Citilink.
Fort Wayne is growing, changing, and moving forward, and public transit is moving forward with it.
Today’s launch represents a major step toward a more modern, rider-focused transit system built around convenience, accessibility, and community connection.
Citilink is excited to bring these improvements to our community and we can’t wait for you to experience them!
