Citilink to Host “Building Better Mobility” Community Event in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind., (Sept. 4, 2025) — Citilink will host the Building Better Mobility Community Event on Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lincoln Financial Event Center at Parkview Field. The free event is open to the public and will highlight the role public transit plays in building a stronger, more connected, and more accessible Fort Wayne.

The evening will feature nationally recognized non-driver and public transit advocate Anna Zivarts, who will share her personal experiences and insights into how mobility impacts people and communities across the country. Attendees will also have the chance to meet Citilink leaders, supporters, and community champions, as well as share their own ideas on how transit can continue to evolve and improve.

Guests will learn about the positive impact public transit has on access to jobs, sustainability, and opportunity in Fort Wayne. The event will also feature a raffle with premium Citilink merchandise and other prizes. These community celebrations are made possible through the support of local partners who share Citilink’s vision for a more connected city.

“This event is about more than buses; it’s about people, connections, and the future of Greater Fort Wayne,” said Casey Claypool, marketing and development director at Citilink. “We invite everyone to join us as we build a stronger, more connected community together.”

An invite-only legislative luncheon will be held the following day in the same location. The luncheon is meant to educate community leaders and elected officials about the economic impact public transit has on our community and give a broader perspective on what it’s like to be a transit rider in Greater Fort Wayne. Bowen Health is the Presenting Partner, and Easterseals and AARP Indiana are Equality Champions, underscoring their commitment to advancing improved mobility options for all residents of Fort Wayne.

The Building Better Mobility Community Event is made possible through the generous support of local partners, including Input Fort Wayne as an Empathy Sponsor and AARP Indiana and Bowen Health as Access Advocates.
