Citilink is Testing a New Cash Farebox

Date: September 3, 2025

Please be advised that we are doing a trial run with a new type of farebox on one of our buses, bus 2306, which travels throughout our entire network.

If you are still using cash for one-way tickets on our buses, you may experience a trip with this farebox. This farebox is only to deposit your cash for these types of rides and we are still not issuing change.

If you would like to go cashless on our buses, we have options for you!

You can download the Token Transit app on a smartphone and purchase and use your ticket digitally.

You can also purchase smartcards at Central Station and our Leesburg office. If you would like to purchase and load passes onto your smartcard yourself, please purchase at Central Station. If you would like assistance purchasing and loading passes onto your smartcard, this can only be done at our Leesburg office.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we test out this new system.

THANK YOU,

FORT WAYNE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION CORPORATION

Well I look at it like this .it is what it is ..but god knows I wish it was like it use to be..Just pay your fare and get change cards .which was more easier for people as myself..because sometime with this scan machine it takes for ever to scan a card. And sometime we pay our money for these scan cards and they dont go thru..so sad that things are being made difficult..but anyway I love my citylink.and thank god for it.have a blessed day
