One Week Until Citilink’s Fare Increase!

By March 25, 20254 Comments

Citilink’s fare increases for both fixed route and Access buses will go into effect next Tuesday: April 1, 2025.

Please note that as of April 1, 2025, we will also no longer be issuing change cards on our buses.

If you plan to use cash on our buses, you will need to have exact change for your ride. We also encourage you to use your change cards before April 1, 2o25.

See our flyers below to see what the fares currently are, what the fares will become, and a list of frequently asked questions in English, Spanish, and Burmese.

If you have any other questions, please let us know or call our Customer Service team at 260-432-4546!

If I can’t buy a day pass when I board a bus anymore, then can I buy one in advance of the day I need it, even if I don’t yet know what day that will be? Like, do day passes expire?

And what about the 10-ride card I still have now – will it still be good after April 1?

    • Jillian Kreider says:

      Hi Rebecca!

Any current passes will be valid through the end of the year so if you have day passes now, they will still be able to be used as is until the end of the year. Only once you use all of your current passes and need to buy new ones after April 1, then you will see the fare increase.

      I hope this helps!

Day passes expire only after you’ve initially used them. If you were to buy a day pass today (3/28/25) and were to initially use it after April 1, Citilink would have to honor that pass at the previous fare rate. The 10-ride card you have would be valid at the previous fare rate until it expires.

Hi there! You are absolutely right. If anyone has passes that were purchased at the current rate, they will be honored through the end of the year.

We’re making sure to leave a grace period for anyone who has passes at our current rate.

Once people use all of their current passes and they purchase new ones after April 1, that’s when they would see the fare increase for themselves.

      I hope this helps!
