Fixed Route Bus Service

  • All Citilink fixed route buses are equipped with wheelchairs ramps, as well as spaces for securing wheelchairs or other mobility aids.
  • Accessible seating is available near the front of the bus for riders with disabilities, elderly passengers, and those needing extra assistance.
  • Buses are equipped with audio and visual announcements for stops, making it easier for those with visual or hearing impairments to navigate the system.

Bus Stops and Shelters

  • Many Citilink bus shelters are designed to be accessible, with ramps or level boarding, seating, and clear signage.
  • Bus stops are typically placed in accessible locations, ensuring easy boarding for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.

Assistance and Support

  • Citlink bus drivers and staff are trained to assist riders with boarding, securing mobility devices, and navigating the bus system safely.
  • Riders who require assistance during travel can bring a personal care attendant (PCA) at no additional charge on both paratransit and fixed-route services.
  • Service animals are welcome on all Citilink vehicles, ensuring full accessibility for those who require assistance animals.

Universal Shelters

Accessible and inclusive

Citilink is working to add some universal shelters throughout the greater Fort Wayne area.

Universal shelters are bus stop structures designed to be accessible and inclusive for all users, regardless of their abilities. These shelters aim to provide comfort, safety, and accessibility for all.

These shelters feature amenities that accommodate a wide range of needs such as wheelchair accessibility, shelter from the elements, seating, clear signage and information, lighting, technology integration, and proximity to crosswalks and sidewalks.

Our first shelter has been installed at Turnstone. Click the button below to learn more about our our wonderful community partner!
